Update over the past year.

I wanted to provide an update on my painting journey over the past several months. It's been a productive and busy year. I took ownership of a small art school and artist working studio called MakeSpace, located in the beautiful Ivans, Kayenta area, set against the backdrop of the Red Mountains.

Having a studio where I can create and teach is truly inspiring, especially in such a beautiful location. I have been teaching at MakeSpace for years, and I am excited to grow the business as the new owner. It has been an honor to share my talent and passion with the southern Utah community through both teaching and my artwork. I consider myself one of the luckiest people on earth to connect with others through art and education.

I realize that I have fallen behind in providing updates on all the new paintings I have created over the past year. To catch you all up, I thought it would be best to share all of my recent works at once. Below are the paintings I've completed over the past year or so. Also, be sure to check out my updated original Painting page on my website because some paintings have been sold and new ones have been added. Thank you for your patronage, and enjoy.

Title: Shaped Through Time

Inspired by a visit to Dead Horse Point State Park, “Shaped Through Time” captures the morning light spilling into the canyon and reflecting off the Green River below. Painted in earthy tones of green, blue, purple, pink, and orange, it conveys the dizzying motion and vast beauty of standing on the canyon’s edge. “Shaped Through Time” was painted in oils with an impressionistic style, using motion and texture to convey the subject matter.

Title: Heavenly Body

Inspired by the canyons of Canyonlands National Park, “Heavenly Body” captures the rising moon and shifting morning light as it moves across the landscape. The painting reflects the canyon’s unique palette of orange, pink, purple, red, blue, and green, revealing the harmony between earth, sky, and light. The painting also reflects the quiet magic of the moon ascending above the canyon, drifting in and out of clouds illuminated by dawn. “Heavenly Body” was painted in the summer of 2025.

Title: Amidst the Storm

Painted in July 2025, “Amidst the Storm” depicts a desert valley framed by mesas, with two peaks rising in the center. Storm clouds spill rain into the landscape, illuminated by the setting sun. Executed in oil, the painting features bold hues of blue, purple, orange, and teal, highlighting the powerful moment in nature’s theater.
